got newsflash for these folks: Bin Laden dead. Taliban defeated in Afghanistan and Afghanistan is not the 51st state. pull the troops and do it now.
If folks in that nation in ten years have not formed enough military might to defend themselves, let them quit the dope business and train to defend and govern themselves.
another flash: we are not the world police force. Than is the UN's job

HOW AMERICAN CAN BECAME PRIMERICA - New York Times: "HOW AMERICAN CAN BECAME PRIMERICA

from article:
ON Friday morning, just after the stock market opened, the American Can Company unveiled its new name. The multi-billion dollar entity will now be known as the Primerica Corporation, pending approval of the stockholders.
The brief, formulaic statement gave no hint of the dozens of meetings, hundreds of man-hours, millions of dollars and months of angst that went into that name change. It is the most sweeping of changes brought about by the most persnickity attention to detail. At one point the debate even centered on whether to dot Primerica's ''i.''"

"Retiree Leader Reacts to AARP Position on Social Security Cuts
Stresses Alliance Remains Opposed to Cuts, and Always Will Be
“My name is Ed Coyle, and I am the Executive Director of the Alliance for Retired Americans, a 4 million-member advocacy organization for older Americans.
“The story in the Wall Street Journal today – which states that AARP supports cutting Social Security benefits - makes it apparent to me that AARP is not representing their members on this issue.
“I will leave it to AARP’s members to decide how they feel about this.
“AARP does not speak for all seniors. And on this topic probably not for many of their own members.
“There is no ambiguity on where the Alliance for Retired Americans stands on Social Security - never has been, never will be.
“We are against Social Security benefit cuts for seniors."

Saint Louis Rally WE are One
We Are One Missouri - Get ready for 2012
Monday, June 13, 10:30am
Senator Jim Lembke's In-District Office
5714 S. Lindbergh
St. Louis, MO 63123
Our elected leaders need to work together to turn our economy around and put people to work in good jobs that will rebuild the middle class, not undermine working families. Instead, legislators like St. Louis area Representatives Fuhr and Haefner were supporting Wisconsin-style attacks.
Although many Republicans and Democrats did the right thing and stood up for the teachers, nurses, firefighters and other public workers in their district, these politicians sided with CEOs and corporate special interests, even though hundreds of their constituents urged them to support working families.
It's time for our leaders to come together to stop power struggles, focus on improving our economy and work to create quality jobs for working and middle class families. It isn't right to exploit the economic crisis to attack seniors, students and workers. Representatives Fuhr and Haefner didn't listen to working families in their districts when workers' rights were under attack this spring.
Join us for a press event - one of four around the state - to hold them accountable and make sure our voices are heard loud and clear.
